How to Pick The Right Size Storage Unit

storage-unite-sizeI get asked this question every week. What size storage unit do I need?

It’s a viable question that needs to be considered before you start your quest for storage. If not, you could end up with a much larger storage unit than needed, costing you additional money.

A good rule of thumb is to estimate 50-75 sq ft of storage for each major room in your home/apartment assuming that you have a standard amount of furniture and keepsakes.

Example: a 1 bedroom comfortably fit in a 10*10 (100 sq ft) storage unit however a 3 bedroom home might require a 10*30 (300 sq ft) or larger storage unit.

While keeping all of this in mind, be sure to account for the additional boxes you will have for closets & bathrooms and consider leaving an isle in your unit making it easier to retrieve items in the future.

If you are moving from a house, don’t forget all of that important stuff in the attic and garage as it too will require storage space.

We at Rosehill Storage are more than happy to show you the various size units and offer knowledgeable advice as to what size storage would best suit your needs.
